The updated Best Kiteboarding Kahoona Kite blends performance and handling with advanced safety features that help you progress and improve. Big-wave riders will appreciate the responsive unhooked handling, great downwind drift, and auto-relaunch. Those newer to the sport will progress quickly thanks to the great boost, hang time, stability, auto-relaunch, and handling characteristics.

  • Versatile, swept-back Delta wingtips (new for 2010) provide any level of board rider a high level of performance paired with easy control
  • Quad strut system eliminates the traditional center strut, which allows for faster turns and lower drag, and makes it ideal for light wind conditions and heavier riders
  • Mini VP2 bridle maximizes efficiency of canopy load distribution and simplifies kite control
  • Cloth reinforcement where the struts and canopy meet (Canopy Framing Technology) results in lightweight protection from impact and crash loads
  • Laser-cut 3D KEVLAR® airframe on all leading-edge strut joints and reinforced KEVLAR tape on joints over entire frame offers maximum strength and durability
  • Load Flex seam construction provides triple-stitched, fully -taped seam design for maximum strength and stability, particularly along the leading edge
  • Surf Tough build quality means you get a durable kite for use on land and in the water
  • 7.5m size best for winds of 18-33 knots; 9.5m: 15-30 knots; 11.5m: 12-26 knots; 13.5m: 10-22 knots

Bottom Line: All-around high performance.

Best Kite So Far!

I just bought a 13.5 the other day to use as my low wind kite. I'm 5'5" and weigh 110lbs. I'm still relatively new to kiting but this has got to be the best kite I've flown so far! It only has 4 struts so it is lightweight and just floats in the air where my Naish Charger would have dropped out of the sky in the 8 mph winds. It is very predictable and responsive. I'm very happy with this kite and will buy another!

love this kite

I have been flying both a 13.5 and an 11.5 kahoona v2 since last summer and have been very impressed. They are super stable and predictable, and have awesome floaty hangtime, as well as great low end for their size. The relaunch is about as easy as could be, and so far have been very durable (still look brand new after lots of sessions on both water and snow).
I have flown kites that turn a bit faster than the kahoona, but what it lacks in turn speed it makes up for in every other way. I would buy this kite again in a heartbeat.

Kahoona = Funoona

I got out on the 9 meter over the last couple weeks. This kite is super fun. It has really steady and solid power for a smaller size very responsive kite. Re-launch was really easy, and it was easy to get way up-wind in just a few tacks. I am still on mostly the bularoos, waroo pro, and some very old north C kites, so this was a fun kite that I need to save my money to buy.
