Description

Game changing.

The Bern Watts EPS Thin Shell Visor Helmet is that rare breed that blends both from and function, and transcends divisions within the world of mountain sports. When first released, the Watts could be found in the terrain park being worn by skiers and snowboarders alike, but now, you'll easily spot this lightweight and versatile helmet looking down backcountry lines and crawling out of helis in the Chugach.

The Watts starts with Bern's Thin ABS hard shell, then adds EPS, a lightweight, single-impact foam that sacrifices its life to save yours. Bern's Signature Shape allows the Watts to be up to 35% lower  in profile than standard snow helmets, and the ergonomic fit means it fits around your head instead of perching on top of it. Several large vents allow air to flow through the helmet to keep you from burning up, and a micro-adjust ratchet at the back of the liner lets you dial in the perfect fit on the fly. All told, the Watts weighs just 17 ounces and fits like a glove, so you won't be thinking about your helmet while you shred. And, unlike other helmets, you can take the liner out when it warms up for spring-skiing comfort.

  • ABS thin shell with EPS hard foam
  • Single-impact EPS foam
  • Crank Fit micro adjustable fit system
  • Removable cold season liner included
  • Top and back vents
  • Original Bern visor shape

Great Style and Comfort

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Very comfortable helmet that fits well and keeps the noggin warm on cold days, but with just enough ventilation to not keep my head dry. Haven't taken any major crashes (and don't expect to), but it definitely holds up to all of the regular wear and tear of a ski helmet after a few falls.

Best Vented Helmet!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was looking for a good versatile helmet , and this has by far been the best one , its true to size fit is amazing , and its warm on the wicked cold days , and really nice and cool on the warmer days.

Unanswered Question

Does the standard knit that comes with this helmet have slots for me to add my own speakers to it? Or will i have to buy one the speaker knits for this helmet?

Great warm helmet

Normally my ears get really cold cause I like to haul tail down the mountain. This helmet kept them pretty toasty.
