    Dirt jumps to concrete bowls.

Designed as a certified all-season helmet, the Bern Macon EPS Helmet is equally skilled at protecting your brain from bike-, skate-, and snowboard-related impacts. Its thin ABS shell is lined with EPS foam for high levels of impact protection—cracking to disperse the blow of serious spills—regardless of whether you're falling onto dirt, concrete, or snow. Passive ventilation ports keep your head nice and cool when you're working up a sweat on hot summer days.

Note that this helmet comes with an EPS Summer Comfort Liner for bike and board use in warmer conditions. The EPS Winter Liner is sold separately, allowing you to convert this brain bucket into a certified winter helmet for use on the slopes.

    Switched over from Hard Hat

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

After viewing a few videos about the difference between soft foam vs hard foam helmets, I decided my days in a Hard Hat snowboarding were over. The science is out that EPS is much safer. Previously I've been rocking a Macon Hard Hat for the last 7 years. I always wore XL in that helmet. Switching to the EPS, with adjustable band, I would say the following. Yes, the Hard Hat is slightly more comfortable, but I found the sizes comparable. I don't think this fit "small" in comparison to what I was expecting. I'd say it was more true to size. The way the EPS feels it almost seems slightly higher on my head, but I think that is due to the lighter weight construction. The top of my goggle still aligns well with the bottom of the helmet. My favorite new feature is the adjustable band. You really get an exact fit.

I'm glad I made the switch. I use this helmet for snowboarding and biking. When boarding, I wear a balaclava under it.
