You know that you need a helmet for all the crazy stuff you do on your bike or on your board, but the giant bobble-head look doesn't do much for you. Bern takes care of that particular dilemma by using Zip Mold technology and its own Sink Fit to ensure that the Women’s Berkeley Helmet sits nice and snug around your head while still offering all the protection you need.
- Zip-mold injection technology fuses high-impact EPS foam to a tough polycarbonate shell to reduce weight and bulk
- Sink Fit features a low-profile configuration so the helmet fits around your head, not on top
- Molded eyewear channel ensures a comfortable and unobstructed fit with goggles or sunglasses
- Air channel design provides ventilation and expels heat for maximum comfort
- Two custom-fit goggle clip locations let you decide what style to rock
- Removable cold-weather liner allows you to wear the same helmet in different seasons and for multiple sports
- Removable visor shields your eyes from the sun
- Accepts Bern cold-weather liner so you can enjoy the fit year-round

Is it possible to buy just the summer visor/liner? I have the winter Berkeley, with snap-in visor and attached winter earflaps. The Bern website has a summer visor listed ... until you try to buy it, whereupon you get a Page Not Found error. Can't find it elsewhere, either. Any ideas?

I got the XS for my tiny head and it fits great. I wouldn't wear one of those spaceship helmets and this was the only one i found that doesn't look ginormous on top of my head. The strap in the back doesn't do much but it tuns out I don't really need it. Doesn't fit as well without the visor, but it seems to ventilate well anyways. And I can still fit a thin hat underneath when its really cold.
cute but sizing issue

cute helmet & I like the optional visor. I'm a 56cm, so I went with a medium. Sadly too big, and the adjustment in the back didn't 'close' as much as it looked like it could have (still had about a cm to go, but the straps prevented it from squeezing closed any further) .
ps. For those who might care-- on the 'gloss white bomber', the stripe is greener than it appears-- more sea foam green than aqua blue.

How accurate is the sizing? I am borderline M/L, but most of the helmets do not seem to be available in a large.

Hey,
If you are right on the edge, it's best to go smaller to have a more secure fit. Go with a medium.

Besides handling a beating from getting hit in the head or thrown off my bike in polo, this helmet is so super light and comfy that I pretty much forget I am wearing it. In the summer it is surprisingly cool and in the winter it's nice and warm with the optional winter liner.
I adore it

As soon as I opened the box and saw the helmet I had to go ride my bike. Incredible great fit, aesthetically pleasing and just absolutely awesome. The shipping was prompt.

I'm a recreational biker and was looking at this and a sport one. People were warning me the Bern helmets would get really hot in the summer compared to the sport ones but I was pleasantly surprised the vents were great and I can feel the air flow though and didn't get hot. Great look as well. Love the versatility of this, as I can wear this on the slopes come ski season. I have a tiny head and normally wear an XS in everything and was right between an XS and S in this helmet. I ended up getting size S and it's the right size - it's adjustable for the perfect fit.

Bought this for my lady! She would not where one of those other dorky looking bike helmets. But she loves this one. I scored big browny points and protected her melon too!
