You brought along the lightweight, water-repellent insulating jacket just in case the weather turned cold later in the day. Joe Climber hadn’t anticipated the rain to soak his softshell, and when you found him the temperature had dropped ten degrees. So you pulled out the Ignite out of your pack (which was stuffed inside its own internal pocket to save space), zipped it over his wet softshell, and let the insulation’s double-sided DWR treatment go to work. An inner DWR treatment protects the Primaloft PL-1 insulation from water, both inside and out.
