An innovative alpine shell.
The Berghaus Men's Baffin Island Jacket utilizes a hybrid construction to maximize waterproof protection and breathability. Designed and built for the harshest alpine environments, the main shell is Berghaus' own Hydroshell Elite Pro membrane complete with a DWR-treated ripstop face and integrated anti-odor technology. The stretch underarm panels sacrifice waterproof protection if favor of better breathability, eliminating the need for underarm ventilation zips. To increase the overall durability of the Baffin Island Jacket, the shoulders cuffs, and hips of the jacket are reinforced with a 140D dobby weft-weave mini ripstop face to keep the jacket intact when worn with a pack, climbing harness, or any other gear you might throw on your back during the ascent.
The Baffin Island implements a streamlined alpine design that saves on weight, but maintains all the key functions needed from an alpine shell. In addition to the anti-odor technology built in throughout the entirety of the jacket, the jacket also features a front loop adjustable hood that has a wired beak and is helmet compatible. The YKK AquaGuard center front zip features a lock down puller to prevent it from getting caught on pieces of gear, as well as rock and ice. The cuffs are hook and loop adjustable, and the hem of the coat can be cinched down through an internal drawcord. Two handwarmer pockets along with a zippered arm pocket allow you to stash a few small items you might need easy access to during the ascent.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Large
Full disclosure; I returned it. However, it's a very nice jacket, excellent quality UK designed (Made in...u know where). I got the orange which is very nice, bright but not insane. The large fit me perfectly, I'm 6' 175, long arms.
I returned it mostly because of the hood. It's really more suited to be worn over a helmet, if you just put it over your head without a helmet, it's like looking out from a cave. A couple other things to note, the cuffs fasten with velcro and there is a lot of excess fabric if you aren't wearing heavy gloves. Lastly, not a deal breaker but it has the opposite hand Euro zipper.
Good jacket for skiing/snow boarding not so much for hikiing imo.
