so small and so light

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a pretty cool knife. Its super small and light, I forget its in my pocket.

Fantastic

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Picked up this knife a few years ago before going for a hike up in the New Paltz Area. the knife is super light but not flimsy. The blade keeps an edge and i love the mechanism. the lock is solid, and you can open the knife with a flick of either your wrist or thumb. I wouldn't use this as a heavy duty camping knife, but it's great as a daily carry and to have in your pocket in general.

I also love the matte black blade- I'm not sure if they still make this knife with a black blade, but it's worth looking for.

Fantastic

Great knife

Super light, strong, great locking. Benchmade is one of my favorite knife makers. Highly recommend.

Extremely handy and light

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was fortunate enough to find one of these in a former reservoir-bed, and I'm glad I did!

I'm not much of a knife guru, but I would highly recommend this to those willing to part with the cash for it. No frills, super light, hard steel/carbon holds edge pretty well (a pain to sharpen though). Seems pretty bomb-proof, considering the condition I found it in and how well it cleaned up.

Quality Benchmade

Benchmade makes another quality knife. What I do not like about the knife is the weight. It is almost to light in that I dont have much confidence in it. It just doesn't feel beefy enough for my preferences.

Axis-Assist Lock

After purchasing this knife an handling it for a while or should I say playing with it! I found a way to open this very quickly. Pull back on the lock and flip your hand and you will be amaized what happens!! It takes practice. I have several Axis-Assist Lock knives and love them all. The locking system is a very safe way to unlock the blade and be able to close with the same hand without cutting yourself as is the problem with framelock knives.

Ultralight packers, this is for you.

Interested in a knife for the ultralight? This is it. Benchmade quality in a backpacker-ounce shaving size. Spring assisted opening kicks the blade out fast, one handed, for when you're cooking and need every possible hand. They're not kidding about losing this knife in your pocket -- it's -that- light. Of course, that lightness comes at a price: the polymer side grips have some flex in them, if you really crank on the knife. This is a perfect knife for those who rarely use the knife outside of cooking or light camp use. Whittling, prying, or spearing.. bring a backup knife. The blade'll take all the abuse you throw at it, just beware the grips.
