Lady Hiker

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The knife is light weight, easy to put in my jean or hiking pants pocket without noticing. I like that it has a safety on it so I cannot cut my pretty little fingers so easy. It's a well made and thought out tool that's the perfect size for me.

Wow, the price jumped over $30 in one day!!

I've had that happen, too. I would have thought that it would have remained on sale through the length of the current Memorial Day sale. BC will match prices on the exact item if you can give them the link to where you found it cheaper, but this is one of those times where my experience in the matter tells me that they don't usually budge. I know you're looking for the black coated version, and they are out there, for less. Google is your friend when you know how to ask the right questions. I just scrubbed $35 off an order I placed yesterday by doing some homework. I try to remain fairly loyal to BC, for lots of reasons, but my money is something I value, and a deal is a deal.

Hey DealMaker,

Unfortunately individual items' sale price does tend to change quite often. If you see the product at a price you like, it is best to jump on it before the deal changes. We also offer a 30-day price match guarantee. So, if you buy the product on sale (or not) and the price goes even lower within the 30-day window, we will refund you the difference.

Hey Josh,

For items that are not part of major sales events, it would be nice to have the ending sale date given along with the sale price. Over time, we do get a lot of people that are caught off guard and miss out by a day asking what happened. If they know when they need to get on it by, it might light a fire before the clock runs out...as long as everyone knows when that is exactly.

You'll have to decide that for yourself, but it's about 9/16" thick on the handle.

Here is the size difference between the two knives. I prefer the mini for everyday use. Yes, the mini's blade is short and fat like that.

Very Nice Assisted Open and Lock!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is one of the best Assisted Open knives I have played with. It opens easily and quickly without the big kick that will throw it out of your hand. Because it is Assisted Open it is a little more difficult to close, just in case you haven't ever played with one before. I think I like the Mini Barrage better than the Barrage because it is easier to close, lighter, and more suited for everyday use.

The lock on the back of the knife is pretty nice! Simply put your thumb on it, push in and slide it back to unlock and forward to lock.

Pros:
- Solid, easy open without to much kick.
- Feels good in your hand.
- Looks great.
- Spring assisted opening is fun to play with.
- Easy in, easy out of pocket.
- Black clip.
- Handle doesn't feel to plasticy and cheap. only slightly...

Cons:
- A little difficult to close one handed due to the spring wanting to keep the knife open. The mini is easier to close.

I would recommend this knife to anyone who wants a spring assisted blade and a quality knife for everyday use or just showing off.

Amazing knife. I love it. Super smooth. Great feeling. If you hold it, you can feel the difference. I have yet to hold a knife that felt as good (unless it was another bench made).

THIS KNIFE IS A 3 AT BEST FOR EDC HEAVY CHUNKEY, AMAZON IS BETTER THAN BACKCOUNTRY BETTER RETURN POLICY, QUICKER RESPONCE!

Responded on

Amazon also has a shittier return policy all around......
"What can I return?
You may return most new, unopened items sold and fulfilled by Amazon.com within 30 days of delivery for a full refund."

You only get 30 days to try a product from amazon, and you cannot even try it, it has to be unopened and in new condition. So wacked. Long live Backcountry!!! lol

No Benchmade knives "feal cheepy!" They feel great in the hand like all quality tools feel. Benchmade is an all American company that produces one of the finest pieces of cutlery in the world. You won't be disappointed.
