Feathery light.

Instantaneous response, cloud-nine cushioning, and airy-light performance unite within the Burton Diode EST Snowboard Binding. Tricked out with more carbon than any other binding in Burton's line, the Diode EST is well-suited for hard-charging riders looking to slay steeps, boost from icy pipe walls, and launch massive kickers in the park. Its dual-component EST baseplate mounts exclusively to Burton boards equipped with The Channel. New for this year, you'll find a SpringBed system underfoot for amplified cushioning when you're stomping heavy landings and charging over chop.

Not only does Burton's EST (Extra Sensory Technology) facilitate infinite stance options and on-the-fly adjustments, but it also eliminates the "dead spot" underfoot by eliminating all excess materials for a truly responsive flex and feel. This particular EST baseplate is much stiffer along the lateral edges of the binding, with a softer material underfoot. This gives you the near-telepathic response and energy transfer desired by powerful riders without sacrificing comfort and shock-absorption. Another major benefit of Burton's EST bindings, compared to the similarly spec'd Re:flex versions, is the addition of Hinge Tech. Hinge Tech allows your foot to roll laterally for snappier ollies and increased pop when you're boosting from jumps and pipe walls.

Looking to the binding's space-age highback, you'll find its semi-translucent design is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to tech. Burton engineered the highback with two flex zones, with different carbon/nylon blends along the top and bottom for extra response where it's necessary and a subtle amount of flex near the top to amplify comfort over previous iterations. Please note, the highback features a Zero-Lean design with adjustable forward lean that requires a tool, making it much more secure when you're riding at blistering speeds.

The binding's super-flexible Hammockstrap is cored-out for minimal weight and maximum comfort when you're ratcheting 'em super-tight. It comes with a Flex Slider that moves the ankle strap out of the way when you're strapping in for maximum convenience. New for this year, Burton improved upon its previous Capstrap, offering up a Super Grip Capstrap for a more locked-in fit and feel over-the-tip of your boot. Both straps feature tool-less centering for dialing in a perfect fit on the mountain.
