weight of 150 vs 200
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
At least for the shirts I got, there seems to be insufficient weight and thickness, hence warmth, difference between the 200 and the 150, given their theoretical fabric weights, with the 200 being only slightly warmer, if at all. For example, a merino zip-neck in size medium, 150, weighs 7.9 oz, and in 200, 8.8. The 150 seems less densely woven, though softer, with about the same diameter of thread used in each. By contrast, an Ibex Woolies long sleeve zip-neck in 150 weighs 6.3, and in the new 220, 8.65. and is noticeably thicker.
Think both the 150 and the 200 are excellent products, but would guess the "200" is really a "175". The 150 is probably not as durable as the 200, but I would give 5 stars for its warmth and feel.
