warm, small, light bag o' feathers

normally i would wait a while to put a product to good use before reviewing but since there are no reviews out on this bag i thought i'd write one up in case anyone is considering this product.

i just bought this bag and took it on a ski mountaineering trip in the Deltas (a sub-range of the Alaska Range) the first weekend in April. it packs very small (about 7x10 inches) and could have been compressed even smaller if i had really wanted to yank on the compression straps.

i slept in the bag on a z-lite pad in a igloo that we built. the night's low temperature was in the high teens. wearing all my clothes including a down jacket and down boots i was plenty warm sleeping in the bag.

the bag is easy to zip/unzip with a well designed collar and hood. there is sufficient room inside the bag to fit my water bottle, boot liners, gloves etc. i'm 6'4 and the long bag was perfect for me.

so far i am very pleased with it. i only gave it 4/5 stars since it is expensive and it hasn't yet stood the test of time.

considering you were in an igloo, the temperatures you actually experienced were far warmer then the high teens, probably high 20s or low 30s. nice igloo by the way.

How are the zippers? My 45 Phantom's zippers are horrible, and every review on MH's sleeping bags mention the how horrible the zippers are. Hopefully, they have fixed them by now considering the years of reviews they have had addressing their zipper problems.
