short person tent!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Set up the tent, put my ground pad down, then wondered why it hit on both the front and back! Wow! I'm 5'9" and couldn't lay on my stomach with my toes pointed without hitting the end of the tent. Disappointed! The aluminum stakes that came with the tent bent in my hands, not to mention in the sand I tried to hammer them into. If you have other stakes and are under 5'6", then this is a great tent! Light and held up fine in 20-30mph winds with light rain. The venting is terrible; way too much condensation in the mornings even with the fly door completely open and the rear vent open. Have to return it for something more functional!

The dimensions read 68 x 82 in. This means 5'8" x 6'10"Unless you were sleeping the wrong way, you'd've had to grow 13 inches to reach 6'10". Maybe I'm calculating something wrong here - let me know asap because I'm looking to buy! :)

Well I understand what he is saying. I am 6'2" have a Zeus 2 EXO which is a very similar tent in design. I think the specs say it has a 7'5" floor but due to the sloping ends of the tent it is hard to not touch the end with my feet when my head is super close to the door. At 6'2" I loved the look of the Amari Pass since it is essentially a dual wall version of the Zeus, but given that they made it 6" shorter than the Zeus, I need to look at the Midori or the Taron.
