I struggled with whether to go with a BA Fly Creek, MSR Hubba, or BA Copper Spur and then debated about ul1 or ul2. Decided to go with the ul2 in case the wife decides to go. When I crawled in a Fly Creek the length just wasn't there for me. I'm 6'1" and need some room. Can't say enough good things about the Copper Spur. During my last outing the winds were sustained 20 mph with 40 mph gusts and the temp dropped down to 18F. Too cold for a 3-season tent, but actually this thing held up like a champ and in a 30F down bag, I stayed warm. The winds didn't budge this baby. Lovely tent, quick set up, mansion-like room inside for 1 person. I do wish it had a bottom zipper but that isn't a deal breaker for me. With footprint added, you are approaching 3 1/2 - 4 lbs for a 2-person tent. But it's a free-standing 2 person tent that can stand up to the elements and one in which a 6'+ guy can stretch out. Watch for a sale, and then bite on this one. Nearly the perfect tent. While it does not have a gear loft (optional purchase) it does have gear pockets in the corner for my light, phone, glasses, etc. without the extra weight of a larger gear loft. I'm incredibly happy with this purchase.
