great lightweight pack

Great great pack. I've been using this pack for short backpacking trips and canyoneering trips and it's excelled at both of these. It's been very comfortable to wear and I love the mesh back and the firm cushioning on the straps. I wasn't sure I was going to like the roll top, but now I wish my bigger backpacking pack had it too! If you want a lot of pockets, this might not be your pack. But it has several, including hip belt pockets which are nice to have. I also really like the ability to easily and quickly lash things to the outside of the pack with either the expandable mesh pocket or the daisy chain on the front. This features is priceless for canyoneering when you don't want to stick your wet, smelly, wetsuit inside the pack if you don't have to. I also like how there isn't much in terms of big loops and straps on the pack that can get snagged on things.
So far durability has been bomber its survived the beating that is canyoneering quite well. I've dragged the bottom and sides of this pack along sandstone slot canyons, I've dunked it in canyon pools, I've swam in it, I've dropped it down small drops. And it still looks great.
The only thing that I would change about it is the hipbelt. I really like the mesh on it, and the hip belt is very comfortable and great for when you're hauling less than 30 lbs. The few times I've hauled more, I've felt like I would have liked to have a more solid hip belt. But that's probably personal preference too.
As for fit, I thought it was a little small compared to other brands. I am 5'5" with a short torso and have a small in my Gregory backpacking pack and my REI daypack. But in this pack, the small seemed too short so I went with the medium which fits great.
Update: also took it on a 2 week Europe backpacking trip! Perfect size for that length trip and this pack is a full pound and a half lighter than my 60L gregory pack. Packing cubes were a super nice to have though because it's top loading.
