Update: This pack is heavy to me now, I am now an Ultralight backpacker and the weight of this pack is more than half of my total baseweight! But for what it is its very comfortable and durable, its just too big for me now.

i took out the removable heavy aluminum pieces and dropped half a pound on this thing. Now my pack weight is a right around 3 lbs. I left the plastic insert just for a little reinforcment. But even that isnt nessecary, the foam padding is pretty thick and nice.

This pack is stronger than an Osprey, maybe a little heavier but you get a pack that you can stuff and it wont bust.

My big 3 weight is now 10.2 pounds!!! and almost forgot, this thing is actually comfortable!! And it has a bunch of adjusters. I would reccomend this pack to an ultralighter looking to spend a week in the woods.
