didnt hold up

This bag looked perfect to put my sleeping mat in and attach to the back of my pack. After 2 days on mild backpacking on the AT it has developed two small wear holes. I expected it to hold up better.

I think the better way is to keep the loaded bags in your pack or look into thicker bags.It is always a trade off between durability and weight.(as I am sure you are aware) Unless you are using inefficient open foam I wouldn't think you would need to protect your pad in a watertight bag.
