I've been rolling my XA Pro mid-tops for over a year now. Here in snowy NE Cali, they've become my everyday footwear. I love how the lacing system can be locked as loose fitting slippers, and this mode basically makes for a comfortable and convenient everyday shoe. I have done probably 200 miles of actual hiking with the shoes, including a bit of winter snow travel and most notably on the 60-mile Bailey Traverse in Olympic National Park. The shoes worked great on this hike, which involved travel on established trails, cross-country bushwhacking, glacier travel, steep snow travel with crampons, and rock scrambling. It is quite difficult to select a shoe for that adventure, and I was pleased with the performance. The shoes do get a little warm in summer, but they are quick drying and easy on-off. I am impressed how the tread still is kicking, though definitely going to wear out later this year. At this point I fully intend to buy another pair when these wear out. Great shoes for a variety of adventures!
