Wreak Havoc on the trail
Well, don't actually damage or destroy stuff on the trail, but these boots can definatly hold their own. On the product description, they say that you can "skip, jump, and splash" and that is definatly true as these boots are pretty darn light, not clunky like other boots. Other boots also have big ol thick, grippy soles on the bottom, these ones just have what you need to be protected, nothin more. That black material you see on the side of the boot is really lightweight, great for ventilation; nice substitute for the leather. I would say these boots are ideal for light to medium grade backpacking trips. If you hauling some real heavy stuff in your pack, you might want to look at something else. I have other North Face shoes/boots and I have always been satisfied. Although their relativly new to the footwear industry, their quality in their outerwear definitly transitions to the footwear. As for the looks, I got the black pair and they look pretty sweet, when your wearing pants, it almost looks like a cross between a hiking boot and a basketball shoe (for better or worse). Overall, nice lightweight waterproof boots that are comfrotable and will get you from point A to point B with ease. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars it because it's not the best possible boot on the planet.
