Gear Review

What about the weight?

I'm kinda bummed that all the new gear is so heavy. The AXL sounds great, but at 4 pounds, that's like an old alpine binding I went away from years ago. I'm tempted to try the Lite Dogs on a light, but mid-fat ski like dps112. Has anyone gone light (pins only) with wide boards?

Responded on might look at the new Spike Dogs. Basically a (6 hole mount) light dog toe, with a heel tube. Heel tube/heel block gives a lot more lateral control, but not a lot more weight. I ski the NT Bulldog, same binding, just different toe box for NT toe , on my Tonics. Light, floaty backcountry setup.
