Warm and compressible

Patagonia quality: Warm,packs well, and it is extremely light. The hood is intelligently designed as well. However, I personally don't like the fit. It is not tapered; it also seems to stick out in the gut area. I'm not out of shape, and don't like jackets that make me appear that way. The fit also gives a marshmallow feel when wearing as an outer layer. With that said, I'd suggest this for backpacking, but I wouldn't pay anywhere near retail for it.
For reference with size, I'm 5'10 195lbs 32 in waist. Fits tight in the shoulders, but very loose in stomach.
