Up and Down

I bought these poles for my wife at the beginning of last winter. On the positive, the poles have a super light swing weight, nice grips, and a good locking mechanism. On the down side the carbon fiber shaft snapped after 30~40 backcountry days. The poles were never used resort skiing and were not abused in anyway. Not sure why it snapped. Maybe due to the twisting / cross load associated with spinning dynafit bindings? The carbon shafts are not round (they have a flat side) so I wonder if a stress builds up along the flat edge.

Responded on

Hmmm.... I'd love to hear more about this. Ever inquire with Dynafit? I just acquired a pair of new Broad Peak poles and would not want to have them break just 30-40 days in... Or ever. Especially in the BC. Suffered a broken pole once and the fix got me through the day but man it makes for harder going.

there is a 2-year manu. warranty
