I bought these boots because I go to football games and needed something to protect me in cold weather. They are not as effective if you are sitting still for long periods of time. But when shovelling snow and being active in cold weather, they are great. The one complaint I have - they fit great the first time I wore them. The second and subsequent times, they began to expand. So, when you first put them on, you are please with the fit. After that, you'd better wear really thick or a couple pairs of socks because they feel a lot bigger on your foot.
