The Padding is FOAM not air.

I was thrown by the "Pad" portion in the title. This really should be called a Mat or Mattress since the "pad's" I'm familiar with are light. Also, the air nozzles cause you to think it's inflatable. This is NOT inflatable. If you blow air into it, it does not become rigid, it balloons like a trash bag.

The padding is internal foam. NOT air.

In all fairness, the ad doesn't claim otherwise. But I really can't find a good use for this thing. If only you could inflate it, then the additional air cushion I believe would make it worth it. But the foam itself feels little more than you are lying on a thick knitted sweater.

I had the same experience... "This is NOT inflatable. If you blow air into it, it does not become rigid, it balloons like a trash bag. "

And it is not very comfortable not blown up. I ended up just putting it on top of my crash pad for a trip and then returning it when I got home.

I purchased 2 of the Stoic Burls Sleeping Pads for car-camping. I had the same experience with the pad ballooning if adding air. I thought the first one was faulty, so I tried the 2nd pad and got the same result. I returned them both and ordered the therm-a-rest luxury map... very pleased. FYI: Backcountry has an amazing service department... super helpful, polite, friendly, etc. I had no problems with the return or even using their price-match service for a lower price I found on another site.
