Sweet kettle. Wide base provides for faster boil times and great stability. I stash the handle and the rest of a kit for two, not including canister, in the kettle. Cork in the spout reduces slop, improves capacity and keeps sharp edge of spout from cutting other items in or body of pack itself. GSI makes a 14oz nesting, lidded mug/bowl set that fits inside well. They don't sell it commonly, focusing on the 20oz set, but should be available when calling GSI Outdoors directly at 800.704.4474. Can also swap a 14oz mug/bowl from a smaller GSI set such as Micro Dualist into kettle for fast and light kit. A wide rubber band keeps the lid in place in transit. Great for boiling and re-hydrating. Not as uber-light as titanium or a beer can pot but use some common sense and this kettle is bomb proof.
Highly recommend this as well as GSI Ketalist to Boy Scouts or others new to the trail acquiring gear for backpacking.
