Stay Centered and Enjoy!
Out of Reno, NV, Moment Ski Company likes to stay different with their rocker shapes and sidecut designs and the Moment Ghost Chant Ski is the perfect personification of this.
Bottom line, if you get super jibby and want a ski to go all-mountain to big-mountain with, this is one of your best options. The amount of rocker tip and tail along with the flex pattern that has a decently stiff waist and a much softer tip and tail rewards a more centered stance in spades. Pow, crud and even laying down carves was in no-brainer territory as the feel of the ski is playful, but with a purpose. A great swing weight is built in as well so spins in the park are not out of the question with the Ghost Chant.
The surprising thing about this ski is how easy chop, crud and floatation came despite its more than subtle flex difference between the tip/tail and the waist.
For all this praise, a few caveats. Like I said, this is meant to be center-driven. Anyone out there that skis with a more traditional stance should not consider this ski. Also, only make this your everyday driver if spins in the park and in the BC is your game as the groomer/all-mountain crowd with a lack of snowfall may find the Ghost Chant too one-dimensional.
