Started off great...
This headlamp has some really great features. I really liked being able to switch between a flood light and a spot light. For example, if you're climbing, you're not moving very fast but you need to see all around you. If you're trail running at night, obviously you're moving a bit quicker and need to see the trail with the utmost clarity. Each mode is also adjsutable between brightness settings so you can squeeze the most out of your batteries.
Here's my issue: i have an older model, but after a few years, the battery connections are EXTREMELY finicky. If I move my head too quick, the power cut. If I snap the battery compartment shut, the power cuts. In addition, to open the battery compartment, you have to tilt the headlamp all the way down. Apparently, this is bad because the lamp has trouble staying where I put it now.
Maybe the issues have been worked out in the redesign, but i have cheaper headlamps that, while not having as any features, have held up better.
