Gear Review

2 5

Spend your money elsewhere.

Plastic handle feels very cheap, grips don't feel adequate, blade doesn't hold an edge, and get pretty loose after a few uses. In my experience with other knives, spending your money on a different SOG, or maybe looking at a CRKT would be the better bet. I don't claim to be all that knowledgeable about knives, but I can tell when I use a good one, verses a cheap one, and this one didn't seem to be worth the price tag.

The handle is not plastic, thanks for trying though. Please review the knife you bought and remove this incorrect review.
thanks

Agreed, karlrogne. Mine is 5 years old and counting. The zytel handle is far more DURABLE than it's cost and feel, apparently, suggest. Used mine in law enforcement near the US/MX border, camping, hiking, hunting, and basically everywhere I go. It has NEVER failed me. It's been dropped, ran over, thrown, scraped, torqued, and heavily used. The blade is still impressive and just like any knife needs a little maintenance, but trust me, very little is needed. The looseness, I thought too, would be weakness, but damn, this knife won't die. I love the clip, too. It sits the knife deep into the pocket or waist line making it much less visible and accessible to others.

Everyone has their own thoughts and I respect that but I could not disagree with this review more. The zytel handle is tough and the blade holds an edge for a very long time. My knife is 4 to 5 years old and I have not had any of the problems mentioned. The blade locks in place and is secure, virtually no movement.
