Some fit notes

After trying all of the 100 mm lasted stiff boots that Backcountry is selling this year, I ended up on this one. The boot flexes really soft indoors and doesn't become a fully beefed 130 flex until the temp hits about 25 is what I read, but I can't confirm or deny that (only can agree that the boot is soft at room temp). What I can say is that the Lange 100mm last is perfect for people who dont' want to swim in their boots but have midfoot pain when buckling down the narrower lasted (usually 97 or 98mm) offerings in the 130 flex range. This boot fits me out of the box better than my previous boot (a Lange 130 WC) even after it had hours of work done on it. Even if I'm going to lose a bit of stiffness, I think the happy feet will make me ski harder.

The boot is overall still much lower volume than Tecnica's demon series, although the demons flex stiffer. Compared to the XT 130, I felt that the RX had a much more progressive flex. The fit was almost exactly the same, but the RX has a MUCH nicer stock liner than the XT. I will update this review with some on-snow notes later in the season.

Hey Mark, any update on these ? I'm looking at these and the Firearrow F1. Heard that there were leaks in some of the Langes in the past, curious if you had any issues with that, or if the Langes lacked the stiffness you expected.

Hey, so I ended up swapping these out for the RS 130 wide with a custom liner because I found that the RS flexed much better in warmer temps. In cold weather, flex was almost identical and I had read about the leaking as well, but never experienced it myself. If you spend a ton of time booting, the sole on the RX might still be a better choice.
