If these shorts fit you they will do a fine job for the price. I am 6'5" tall with a 35" - 36" waist and ordered a size larged based upon the sizing chart that stated large would fit waist sizes 35"-37". The liner fitted great but I could not fasten the shorts around my waist, I checked and they were clearly labelled large so I had not been sent the wrong size. I paid to ship the shorts back to BC and ordered the XL thinking that no big deal if they were a bit large, the waist is adjustable. The XL are HUGE on me and the adjustable waist has little adjustability so I am forced to wear a belt with the shorts. The liner is too big as well. I usually have no problems with size L shorts fitting me. It appears there is a big hole between short sizes in PI's sizing scheme, at least for this model of their shorts.
