My wife is 5'6" and around 160, in a muscular, "I'll beat the senses out of you if you don't note that I'm muscular" kind of way. I got her a L/XL in the BedSEA and she loves it.

I'm a dude, so take this from her...the ergonomic cutouts in the chestal region are very accommodating for her female anatomy. I'm thankful for that, because no one likes coming home after a long day of paddling to a bunch of smashed boobies. In all seriousness, though, it's super confortable, reasonably well ventilated for hot weather, and offers great floatation. She uses it both canoeing (with a backrest) and for SUP, and it works well for both.
