On the bottom of the mug it has a picture of a microwave and so I did. After 2 minutes in the microwave the mug lid no longer fit, holes develped in the side, and the sleeve slid off.

G'Day!

As the previous reviewer stated, the symbol on the base of the mug indicates dishwasher safe. The Delta series (bowls, plates and mugs) is NOT microwave safe.
