Really wanted to love this tent
The weight of this tent as well as the size of it packed up were two big perks of the design (and also the two reasons I purchased it). You really do need to guy it out all the way for max floor space (its only kind of free-standing), and it is spacious enough for a 5'3" camper to feel at home in.
The issues started popping up during foul weather and with a taller hiking partner. It's just too short for someone who is 6'2-3"ish - sleeping bag hits the fabric at the feet and head brushes the top. The single door wasn't an issue, but the lack of a substantial zipper cover (for weight savings, presumably) meant that you couldn't leave it unzipped partially at the top for ventilation (as I can with my other tents), as water would come dripping in.
This tent is so close to perfect, and I really wanted to love it, but just falls short of what I really need out of a tent. (I should just start hiking with shorter people, is the moral of the story). Also, set up in the middle of a downpour isn't as quick as with some other tents. The fact that you have to guy out everything adds a lot of time. All in all, if I could give 4.5 stars, I would, but it falls JUST short of perfection.
