I too had the same issue where the shoe wore my heel raw. Once I built up callouses I was fine provided I wore wool socks. It's too bad this happens because aside from this issue I did like them. They are very easy on and off, light and have decent tread. More of a light hiking shoe and good all around every day shoe than something i would turn to specifically for hiking.

I agree, I haven't done any serious hiking in them, I left that for the Merrell Barefoot Tough Glove I had. But just walking around outdoors for a while I started noticing a hot spot where your sore is. I can only imagine doing anything serious for prolonged periods of time. Other than that they are great. Light, really grippy (gotta love Vibram), really tough and great ventilation.
