Price is right on Stoic gear
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
For the price it is hard to find a better, comparable non-goretex shell.
Now big sales do lead to questions like original retail prices, quality questions, company longevity?
However, I purchased a grip of Stoic gear as an update to my company's worn out rain gear. I have had a chance to use the Stash in rain/snow mix and it held up to the pressure washer while cleaning equipment.
I think this gear will do just the trick for my needs, Spring rain, pressure washers and summer showers.
As a business owner the price point is a bottom line. However I understand longevity and materials are worth the price so we will see how this shell fares over time but happy with my purchase. And the orange is also a hunting season safety shell.
I am 5'11 and 205, broad shoulders, 34 waist and the large is a good, athletic fit. Arms just a hint long, no Velcro cuff.
Also, Backcountry's price match is as advertised. I paid an original sale price for 2 of these shells, a week later they went on a further sale. I did a live chat with BC and they credited my card back the difference and sent me an email confirmation for the order.
BC is my goto gear site, and has been for years
