As a small female, I naturally sleep cold. My first week long camping trip was full of stars, then high winds and snow... nightly temps ranging from 20-50F. On the colder nights I layered up with ski socks, thermal pants and couple fleece layers, and a hat. I stayed nice and cozy! On the warmer evenings, I didn't have to layer at all. I think the 0 degree rating is appropriate. If you are going to be in some seriously cold nights, I'd recommend a down bag... maybe -20 rating to sleep soundly and warm. The zippers are great and the bag performs very well! Light enough for small backpacking trips.. Very affordable!
