I bought a pair in 2006 and wore them almost daily in the warmer seasons. They were really comfortable and I replaced them in mid 2011 because the tread finally wore flat. I bought what visually look identical to my old pair (aside from the tag saying "Made in China" and not the USA), but the new ones rub the sides of my toes raw and just below my ankle. I woke up this morning to find blood all over my feet from wearing them for 12 hours over the weekend. I followed the strap adjustment instructions that came in the box, and I have been trying to adjust the straps as needed with no luck. I've had my current pair for a year, but I can only bare to wear them about 8 hours and then have to wait for the scabs to heal until I can wear them again. Other than the pain, they are great for canoeing and river walking, I just wish I could get back what I once had. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I loved the Chaco brand and look, but I can't see me buying these again. Also, after wearing them for a few months, adjusting the straps becomes impossible. They will not move. I wear a size 14, normal width.
