They are supposed to fit like a traditional clog, the heel is not supposed to touch the back of your foot, it is supposed to move freely as you walk. If your feet are sliding that far forward sounds like you need them in narrow. I need mine in wide now that I had a baby (its true what they say about your feet spreading). I used to have a lot of heel pain and these made it go away completely, I swear by them but its also helpful to try them on in the store b/c they are handmade so they can vary a bit.
