No Problems

I bought this kit last year when I started touring. I took an Avy 1 class and had no problem with any of the gear. This is my first beacon but it is very simple to use and I had no problem locating any of the buried beacons during the avy course. The 3 piece shovel fits well in my pack and the probe is simple enough to use. I actually like that it screws down because it is more secure for probing through hard snow. Definitely some gear I hope to never have to use but if I were to be involved in a real avalanche, not just the simulated ones in my avy course, I would feel confident in all three pieces of gear. Both for locating a burial and being on the other end of it with someone searching for my beacon. Battery life has been great on the beacon. I tour a couple times a month during the winters in Utah. This package fits great in my Osprey Kode 30 pack.
