The fit and feel of the boots are great. A little hard to lace very tight, as the fabric 'eyelets' have a lot of resistance, but it's better for circulation in the cold to be a bit loose, anyway. I spent a few days camping and doing photography in single digit F temps with deep fresh snow and, as expected by their thin walls, they are only warm enough if you keep moving. For prolonged standing still at temps below 10 degrees F, something with more insulation would be better, but these are perfect for snow shoeing and winter hiking when I'll be moving for most of the time. The soles also have good traction on rock and scree.
