My treadmill shoe
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I like to run in a zero drop minimalist shoe on the road or trail but have found that it doesn't work for me on my treadmill during the winter so I was looking for a shoe with some padding and drop. This shoe has 10.9mm of heel/toe drop and a 24.2mm sole under the forefoot. I've read reviews that they fit snug but for me they were spot on - maybe even a bit of extra room. The sole is super smooth so they are nice and quiet on a treadmill and don't wear the belt unnecessarily. The shoe isn't a minimalist shoe at all - much stiffer than a Nike free (or any of the barefoot shoes we sell on here). The gel in the heel makes for a pretty cushy ride if you heel strike at all - some people won't like this, especially if you're running inside as it makes for a pretty squish ride, but it works well for me. Have only done short runs so far but I may not do any long runs this winter so I'm not going to promise an update.
