My Cap Leaks

I was excited when my 64oz. Wide Mouth Hydro Flask arrived in the mail. The first thing I did was clean it out with water and vinegar like Hydro Flask recommends and then I put the cap on and turned it upside down and water started leaking out of the cap so I tightend the cap a little more and water was still leaking out. It appears the cap is made of plastic that is too soft for the job it is designed to do. I can actually bend the cap out of shape without using much force. I have a Klean Kanteen wide mouth water bottle and I took the cap off that bottle and screwed it on to my Hydro Flask Wide Mouth Water Bottle and it doesn't leak at all. The Klean Kanteen cap is made of much harder plastic and also has stainless steel inside the cap for strengh. When I poured hot water inside my Hydro Flask the outside of the flask never got hot and when I poured cold water inside it the outside never got cold so the actual bottle works well it's just the cap that dosen't work and I don't think a replacement cap would help because it is a design problem. Hydro Flask needs to re-design the cap to make it a better product.

There's no warranty card to fill out or receipt to keep. You don’t even have to worry about taking your Hydro Flask back to the store where you purchased it. Please note that if it is just your cap that is not working correctly, you do not need to send in any products. Hydro Flask is not responsible for lost or misdirected packages. If the problem lies in the insulation, please follow the instructions below.

Simply contact us and tell us what the problem is. Our Customer Care Department will provide you with the necessary information to get you the replacement bottle or cap you need. When shipping your Hydro Flask, we encourage you to use a traceable method (such as UPS or insured mail) and ship in a sturdy, cardboard box.
Once your Hydro Flask is received by us, it will be inspected by our Warranty Department. If we determine that your warranty claim is the result of a manufacturer’s defect, we will replace your Hydro Flask and ship a new one back to you free of charge. If we determine that your warranty claim is NOT the result of a manufacturer’s defect, you will be responsible for paying to have your Hydro Flask shipped back to you.
If your Hydro Flask qualifies under warranty, it will be replaced by the same size and color. If the same color and size is no longer available, it will be replaced by one of similar size and color and will not be of lesser MSRP value. Requested substitutions will not be honored.
This warranty extends only to you, the original purchaser of the Hydro Flask, and lasts for 100 years or one lifetime, whichever comes first. This warranty covers all parts of the Hydro Flask and applies to defects or failure during standard use, except for: loss-theft, dishwasher use or normal wear and tear (dents, scratches etc).

Once we receive your shipment, please allow 2-3 weeks for return delivery. You will receive an email from us informing you once your Hydro Flask has shipped. Shipping is free for warranty items in the United States. For all other countries the replacement item will be free, but you will be responsible for shipping charges.
