This was perfect for day hiking. Recently went to Glacier National Park (beautiful!) and did multiple 10-12 mile hikes. This pack was awesome. Plenty of water. Carries easy. Didn't make me gross and sweaty. Held everything I needed - extra layers, first aid kit, food. I highly recommend it. The bladder is also super easy to use.
