Gear Review

Love it

Just picked up one of these a few weeks ago. I've used it during "snowvember" at Alta and for backcountry skiing. It's breathes well and is very comfortable. I'm 6'1" 185 lbs. and the large fits great, with a little room for layering. If you spend a lot of time at the gym or have naturally occurring large biceps, the fit might be a little too tight for you in the upper arm / shoulder region.

As for other reviews about its waterproofness and warmth, if you want something really warm, buy a down jacket. If you want something 100% waterproof, buy a hardshell with taped seems. If you want a comfortable softshell that breathes well, then go for the Vertical.

Where is it fitting tight at? I purchased one and it feels kind of tight in the arm pit area (compared to my Marmot Gravity). Considering returning it but otherwise it is a solid jacket.

It can be a little tight in the arm pit area, like you say, but only when I layer with a fleece underneath. The fit has worked for me though. I use it for mostly for skiing and I'm usually comfortable with just a base layer underneath.

I got the jacket and found the arm pit area to be tight too. The rest of the jacket fit very well. I am 6'1'' and 230 lbs, a little broad shouldered. I love the jacket otherwise. Still trying to decide whether to keep it or not.
