This is the perfect stove for minimalist backpacking. It boils water almost faster than I can dig out and open a freeze dried meal. A single small canister of fuel will last a 3 day hike, averaging 6 or 7 freeze dried meals and 4-6 single serve coffee bags.
There is a small drawback or two. You need a windblock when it's more than a breeze blowing, and the nature of canister fuel makes it a poor choice for winter. Both those issues I knew and understood from the get-go. Blocking the wind is a non-issue for me, and I have an old-school Coleman white gas stove for winter, but I'm in the market to replace it with something lighter and newer.
All-in-all, I heartily recommend this stove for any above-freezing adventure.
