Lance Armstong's energy of choice...
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
So it looks like in the wake of Lance Armstrong's "guilty" sentence, backcountry is selling off the tainted goods for cheap on Steep and Cheap. I picked up a box for $13.
Unless I can confirm that Lance acquired his illegal substances through these waffles, I'm not quite sure I would buy them again. First of all, I will say that they are pretty tasty. I still prefer a crunchy peanut butter Clif bar, or maybe even a vanilla crisp power bar, but these bear a closer resemblance to real food. They are kind of greasy on the waffle part, with a little bit of chewy stuff in between, and they taste pretty good.
However, the main problem here is that it's like eating a cracker. There's NOTHING here. I would have to eat at least 3 of these to feel as satisfied as 1 Clif bar makes me. And at 160 calories, they could almost qualify as a women's diet snack.
The lack of substance wouldn't be so atrocious if they weren't expensive, but at almost $1.50 each, regular price, I can almost get high quality protein bars with more calories and more hunger-busting power than these. At $13 for the box, I'm satisfied, but I don't think I'll buy them again.
