Knees? Who cares! Check out my butt!
- Gender: Female
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Ok, so I got these to support my knees and IT band. I chose the 3/4 length because 1) they were on sale, 2) I was afraid to try to get into the full-length ones!
I am 5'7", 145-150. Solidly in the Medium (go to the CW-X site for excellent size charts). *yeah, right* When I got them I laughed, but gamely followed the instructions to get them on. Well, dang. They do fit. And dang... look at my butt! (I'll just hide that roll above the waistband under a nice loose running shirt!)
They're not gonna do miracles, but while running, they do feel supportive. And I liked pulling the waistband up in back to support my lower back. Less post-run fatigue? Maybe. I kept mine on for an afternoon and wasn't uncomfortable. So you could probably wear them for recovery gear also.
A funny feature: I didn't see a review that mentioned the drawcord waist. Think about that for a moment... These are hardcore compression gear. A drawstring? Seriously? I decided that the cord must be a safety device... you wrap it around your wrist so if the pants explode while you're running, you won't kill someone. I pulled mine out. I didn't like that bow in front detracting from my butt ;)
