Gear Review

2 5

Keep to the sizing chart

The size chart is exactly what you're going to get. Forget any extra inches to layer. I believed other review comments and fell into a deep dark hole when the jacket arrived. No room to layer, what a waste of time.
Material is too stiff for me, sleeves extra long but prob OK for a 6 footer.
Expected more product for that they charge and sad to see it's made outside the USA.

D-Wip 420, here's some info on the different fits from the Arc'teryx website:
"Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility."
If the Relaxed fit doesn't give you enough room to layer underneath you should check out the XPD fit:
"Cut roomier than our Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement."

The Rush jacket features the XPD fit and might be a great alternative for you. It will give you enough room to stuff a down sweater or other high volume mid layers underneath.

I wear a size Medium in the Sabre and haven't had any issues wearing an Atom LT as a mid layer underneath. However things do get a little tight with anything higher in volume.

Just got the same jacket in Small, I am 5"8 and whey 175lbs fairly muscular and the jacket fits great with enough room for a base layer and a fleece.
