I was really worried about ordering these boots considering what more than a few people said about the heel blister issues, but I have been impressed so far. I bought these as a replacement for my La Sportiva Onix GTX-XCR boots which I loved, but which fell apart...twice. I sent both pairs back with no questions asked. Anyway, the Salewa's arrived and I wasn't too happy when I put them on. I thought there was going to be a serious issue with the heels, but after about two weeks of 8 hour/day use, they have molded to my feet very nicely. It's a more robust boot that my previous La Sportiva, but still in approximately the same category. No hot spots, no blisters, and plenty of room in the toebox. For comparison, I'd say the are a bit wider than the La Sportiva's, but I ordered the same size and my feet are not sliding around or anything like that. I also got Smartwool PHD midweight socks which seem to be a really good match for this boot. So far... I'm sold on Salewa and will definitely be buying more!
***UPDATE***
So I did my initial review in Dec of 2012. I am still wearing the same boots after all this time. No issues with laces or stitching or any other "quality" item. Many have spoken about the heel cup issue which I initially had, but now they fit like house slippers. Like any other boot, this one won't fit everybody. They happen to fit me very well though. They have now lasted for two one year deployments to Afghanistan and are on their third one now. I really can't say enough good things about them. I'm actually taking the opportunity to buy another pair since they are currently on sale.
