..Getting ready to pull the trigger on my 1st 29er & I'd like your 'pro'-opinion: Can you give me the as built weight on the Tallboy Carbon R XC in a large? I'm trying to justify $$ for VPP/29 combo vs: Yeti SB-96 (in a middle of the road-build), vs: Salsa Spearfish 1 large (XC), or possibly Horsetheif (AM). I know it's your job, but please try to be as unbiased as possible. I'd like to keep it around $3 - 3.5K. Priorities here: Budget, Weight vs performance. I primarily ride endurance XC, w/some road-trip IMBA-epic's mixed in, so AM-performance would be a bonus. Thanks for your time.

The Tallboy is the most versatile 29er FS frame currently on the market. I have seen it set it up here int the local shop (Habitat) as a 23.5lb XC Race Machine (full XX and Reba XX fork) and a 27lb Plush Trailbike. It can be set up as you wish. The XT build is going to come in around 25lbs. Ride On!
