Ideal multi-use pack

The size and fit makes this a brilliant pack for slack and backcountry excursions. Pack it with shovel, probe, a layer or two and some other emergency essentials and you're good to go. I've stuffed my 18L Arcteryx Silo 18 to the point of splitting just to get the bare essentials for slack country, but with this pack, I've got enough extra room for some food, repair tools, an emergency bivy and a puffy and/or midlayer. The helmet slot is excellent for secure storage during the skin up.

The diagonal ski carry is, in my opinion, much better than an aframe approach and teh cord is secure and reliable.

HIghly recommend this pack for skiers but not for snowboarders. Though it has a vertical snowboard carry capability, the Heli Pro is far superior with it's secure horizontal snowboard carry feature.

This pack has horizontal and vertical snowboard carry

Geep, I have to disagree. I don't see the horizontal snowboard carry, unless you manipulate the cinch straps to do so? the Heli and Heli DLX features the back pad slip and clip function for a snowboard, but the Pro II does not.
